Sarah

Support Coordinator, Specialist Support Coordinator, Social Worker, PBS Practitioner
My journey into the disability sector began with the completion of my Social Work Degree from the University of Tasmania in 2015. I later began my career as a support worker and gained incredible experience and knowledge from working with others living with a disability. In December 2020, I was offered the exciting opportunity to work with My Care Options and later transitioned to the Enhanced Support Team (Family Based Care) in 2021. I am delighted to be able to connect with each participant, hear their stories and goals, and provide support along their NDIS journey. I bring an understanding, optimistic and friendly approach to my responsibilities within my roles, and use personal strengths such as dedication, thinking outside the box, great listening skills, organisation and I enjoy a good sense of humour. In my personal time I enjoy traveling, reading and spending time with my family, friends and cats.

Melinda

Support Coordinator
I started working in the education Department with students with disabilities in 2010. After 5 years I decided to further my own education & knowledge to better support participants. Starting in the field as a DCW to now assisting participants with their NDIS. During this time I have completed my certificates in Disability & Diploma in Community services. This has given me the skills & ability to assist in making change for my participants. I am a hard working goal oriented person who is passionate about the disability sector. A good problem solver who is empathetic & understanding. In my personal life I enjoy spending time with my family & friends, photography, artsy projects & anything musical.

Rebecca

Social Worker and Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner
My career in the community services sector began around twenty years ago, when I landed my first job in the disability services sector.  I began working as a disability support worker in a residential facility before moving on to community-based disability support work. Early on I discovered my passion for supporting people who have significant behavioural presentations, and their families. Whilst I have continually maintained my involvement in the disability sector, I have also worked with people who have a range of other experiences including addiction to alcohol and other drugs, imprisonment, challenges in their mental health, and poverty and homelessness. I find myself continuously in awe of people’s resourcefulness, strength, and resilience, and I believe wholeheartedly in people’s ability to recover from the effects of life’s adversities when provided the resources and help that they need. After attaining my Associate Arts degree (Sociology and Criminology) in 2015, I worked for four years with children and young people who present with significant behaviours resulting from experiences of complex trauma, and became trained in the use of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). I have recently graduated from university with a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours. To my current PBS role, I bring extensive experience in disability services, clinical experience, and a determination to work alongside my participants and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes for every person.
